Facilities at UK airports to be put to national vote
UK holidaymakers are being urged to support their local airport by voting in a national awards scheme from The Co-operative Travel.
This is the second year that the travel company has run the Star Awards, the largest scheme of its kind that acknowledges and rewards travel providers who have excelled over the course of the year.
The best airport category is a new addition to the awards, and The Co-operative Travel is inviting people to vote for their local airport if they feel it offers the best facilities, customer service and overall experience.
Shaun Hinds, Director of Commercial at The Co-operative Travel, said: “More often than not the holiday experience starts and ends at the airport, which makes it one of the most important parts of a trip. That is why we would urge travellers who have enjoyed their airport experience to vote for their local airport and give it the recognition it deserves.”
The Star Awards is the largest award scheme undertaken by a holiday retailer, and in addition to helping to find the UK’s top holiday operators, one lucky voter will win £250 of holiday vouchers in a prize draw plus the chance to attend the awards ceremony in Manchester later this year.
“Our customers are the most qualified people in the travel industry to vote for the best operators, airline and airport, as they are the ones who travel on our holidays,” added Shaun. “As we offer the widest selection of holidays on the high street, it means our customers have access to more holiday products than anyone else.”
Voting forms are available from The Co-operative Travel stores throughout the UK or online at www.starawards.coop.
