Speedy secures £3m deal with Works Infrastructure UK
Speedy – the UK’s largest tool and equipment hire company - has signed a three-year £3 million sole supplier agreement with Works Infrastructure UK, a leading engineering group operating in the infrastructure, facilities management, civil engineering and rail sectors.
Under the agreement, Speedy has acquired Works Infrastructure’s fleet and will provide a wide range of tools and equipment including tools, generators, pumps, lifting gear, surveying equipment and temporary site accommodation.
Lawrence Ireland, executive director UK, Works Infrastructure UK, a subsidiary of Downer EDI – a listed Australian engineering group with revenues of over £3bn said:
“We assessed a number of equipment providers, but Speedy’s continual investment in the latest equipment and its comprehensive range of products put them ahead of the competition.
“We believe the partnership we have formed with Speedy will enhance the quality and reliability that Works Infrastructure strives to deliver to our clients. Speedy has clearly recognised the enormous potential the backing of the Downer Group brings to Works Infrastructure in the UK.
“Speedy’s pioneering commitment to health and safety initiatives were a vital factor in our decision. Best practice in this area compliments our drive to be leaders of ‘zero harm’ in our industry and we are committed to achieving it.”
Gary Thompson, market director at Speedy said: “With a comprehensive product and service portfolio, alongside its nationwide depot footprint, we are ideally placed to meet the broad and diverse needs of Works Infrastructure UK’s business through a single point of contact.”
