Shearings sees flight bookings soar

Shearings Holidays has reported a considerable boost in bookings for its holidays by air.

The company has shown a 7 per cent growth in year-on-year sales for air holidays between September and December this year, and predicts continued growth in revenue into 2011.

Patricia Birmingham, Europe and worldwide holidays manager at Shearings, says: “Our range of holidays by air for winter is proving to be a real success.

“We’ve worked hard to overcome the obstacles thrown at us by the year’s unpredictable weather and unstable economy and, in doing so, have managed to grow sales for our holidays by air.

“The increase in bookings shows that customers know that they can book a Shearings holiday with confidence. Our holidays are fully protected by our ABTA membership and ATOL licence, and the fact that we have our own fleet of coaches means that, should flights be disrupted, they won’t be left without a holiday – or left stranded.”

Shearings recently released its new brochures for 2011, which include a wide range of escorted tours and river cruises by air across the UK, Europe and beyond. New destinations offered for 2011 include Australasia, New York and China.
