Shearings scoops best coach operator award
Shearings continues to cement its leading position in the escorted tour industry by picking up the award for Best Coach Operator in the Globe Travel Awards.
It’s the third consecutive year the Wigan-based operator has won the award, as voted for by travel industry professionals. Shearings beat off competition from other big industry names including National Express, Leger and Page & Moy to win the award.
The announcement follows Shearings being voted Best Coach Operator in the Co-operative Travel Star Awards and Best UK Escorted Tours Operator at The British Travel Awards (BTA). It also arrives as the company announces its widest and most diverse collection of holidays for 2011.
Caroline Brown, commercial director for Shearings Holidays, said: “Being recognised as Best Coach Operator is a great achievement for Shearings and shows how we have successfully established ourselves as a market leader.
“While the award recognises our success as a trade-focused coach holiday operator, our 2011 programme shows just how far we’ve evolved as an escorted tour operator. Our product range now offers a wide choice of diverse flight, rail and cruise holidays across Europe and beyond.
“We’re extremely proud of our dedicated and professional team of staff that continue to help us achieve this success.”
Shearings recently received one Gold and two Silver awards in the 2010 British Travel Awards, as well as holding Best Coach Operator For Groups: Large Fleet in the 2009 & 2010 Group Travel Awards.
