Shearings responds to demand from over 50s adventurers
Shearings has announced an expanded programme of river cruises and escorted tours for 2011, in response to the increasingly adventurous tastes of its loyal over-50s customer base.
The highlight of the new holidays on offer is a 10 day cruise along the Mekong River from Vietnam to Cambodia, with other additions including an Eastern European Danube cruise from Budapest to Bucharest and eight new European tours.
Caroline Brown, commercial director for Shearings, said: “Our customers are increasingly looking for new experiences, which is why we’ve significantly increased our product range, to widen our appeal to the full spectrum of over-50s holidaymakers.
“River cruises are proving to be particularly popular, offering a different way to explore while enjoying the highest standards of comfort. To cater for increased demand for 2011, we’ve added two new river cruises to our programme.”
In addition to the new river cruises, the specialist escorted tour operator has added new tours to Spain, Northern Italy, Croatia, Malta and Gozo, Austria and Eastern Europe.
UK tours have also been expanded with new dates on popular holidays, including the Great Highland Railways tours, which offer a spectacular way to enjoy some of Scotland’s most dramatic scenery. Shearings has also added a new hotel on the Isles of Scilly after seeing a surge in demand from holidaymakers looking to stay on the islands in 2010.
The announcements mark the launch of Shearings second edition brochures for UK & Ireland, River Cruise and Europe & Worldwide.
