Shearings helps agents boost sales to Ireland
Shearings is offering UK agents the chance to take part in a joint campaign to help them tap into the recent surge of bookings for Irish tours.
The company, which is the UK’s leading operator to Ireland, has seen bookings for Irish tours increase by 22% since last year. To help agents capitalise on this increased interest Shearings has designed an “Ireland in a Box” campaign which provides each agent with a complete one-week marketing campaign to promote Ireland to their customers.
Michael Bowers, sales manager for Shearings, said: “Last year saw more people staying closer to home and this trend is continuing into 2010 as people look to take regular, short breaks rather than more expensive holidays.
“Many agents have traditionally relied on summer package breaks. However, the recent downturn has changed booking patterns and there is now a need to focus on providing a stronger year round offering.
“The idea behind "Ireland in a Box" is that any agent can take part and receive our one-week marketing campaign which culminates in an ‘Ireland sales day’, to be held by the agent on the Saturday.
“We believe this is a unique idea and one that will really benefit agents who take part. It also provides a quick and easy way for agents to get the message across to their customers that they offer year-round shorter breaks.”
The “Ireland in a Box” campaign highlights Shearings’ full range of Irish tours through a full marketing package including press adverts, database mailouts and point of sale material, all co-funded on a 50/50 basis. Agents can choose any week in February or March to run the campaign.
Shearings recently reintroduced its two night coach trips to Dublin due to increased demand and now offers the UK’s widest selection of year round holidays to Ireland by air and sea.
