Shearings expands 2010 holiday offering

Shearings Holidays announces more choice for holidaymakers with its latest 2010 brochures for UK breaks, Europe and River Cruise holidays.

UK Breaks

Within the 2010 UK brochure Shearings has divided its hotel breaks into two types to offer customers greater choice.

Bay hotels are ideal for people who love Shearings holidays, as they offer the very best of the Shearings resort experience with great locations, great service and great entertainment. The Coast & Country hotels are each unique in appearance, period and character and are located in areas of natural beauty and historic interest - perfect for self-drive holidays and for people who want to explore the surrounding area.

The 2010 UK brochure offers much wider choice than 2009 with 30 new tours and all of the holidays are cheaper or the same price as 2009. Early booking deals include £30 per person off all 8 day (or more) holidays and £20 per person off all 5 day holidays, if booked before 30 September. Shearings recognise the importance of loyal early bookers and reward multiple purchasers with additional discounts.

Example lead in price:

Great Little Trains of Wales - A five day tour of Wales travelling on a narrow gauge steam railway is priced from £329 which is a £20 saving on the 2009 price.

Europe and River Cruise

Europe 2010 and River Cruise 2010 brochures have also expanded, with 12 new European itineraries and 34 river cruise holidays on 14 ships. Shearings is also venturing further afield including cruises in China and Egypt for the first time. As with the UK brochure prices, many of the holiday prices remain the same or cheaper than 2009.

River Cruise prices start from £339 per person for an Amsterdam Weekend Cruise and Shearings is offering early booking discounts on every cruise booked by 31 October, with up to £1000 off per couple.

New European tours include All Inclusive breaks to Lake Garda, new tours to Austria and Lake Como and new short breaks to Northern France and Belgium.

Example lead in price:

Austrian All Inclusive - A nine day All Inclusive tour of Austria is priced from £569 which is a £70 saving on the 2009 price.

Caroline Brown, commercial director for Shearings Holidays, says: “The UK has been hugely popular this year and our new itineraries, including new tours to Edinburgh and in Wales, along with our newly rebranded hotel collection, increases the options for those planning to holiday at home again next year.

“Our river cruises which visit some of Europe’s most renowned waterways have been a popular choice for customers looking for a great value holiday abroad. With the introduction of the MPS Rotterdam this year, to our exclusive ships MV Virginia and MV Esmeralda, we were able to offer customers even more choice.

“Our customers are still looking for great value but are also expanding their horizons and we have worked hard to try and keep prices the same or lower than 2009, whilst introducing a new programme of holidays.”
