Agent grabs a grand with Shearings
A Whitby travel agent is looking forward to starting her Christmas shopping early, after winning £1000 as part of Shearings’ latest brochure launch.
Gemma Norris from The Co-operative Travel, on Baxtergate in Whitby, entered the competition to “Grab a Grand” by answering questions about Shearings’ new 2011 UK & Ireland and Europe & Worldwide brochures.
The 26-year-old, who has worked at the branch since June this year, said the competition was a great way to encourage agents to learn more about the products.
“Having only been a travel agent for a few months, this initiative was really helpful for me as I had to research the new brochures to find the answers to the questions.
“Shearings’ holidays are popular among our customers, and I’m sure that by knowing more about their wide range of products I’ll be able to sell more.
“I certainly didn’t expect to win, so it was a great surprise. I plan to spend my prize money on a holiday or Christmas presents.”
Shearings launched the incentive as part of its 2011 1st edition brochure launch to trade. The incentive was advertised in the trade press and open to all agents.
The winner was picked at random from all entrants who answered the questions correctly.
