NFB offers new insurance service to members

The National Federation of Builders (NFB) has announced a partner for its new insurance solutions scheme.

Giles Insurance Brokers (“Giles” or “the Group”) have been appointed to create tailored services to contractors searching for insurance.

Over the coming months the NFB and Giles will conduct research across the organization’s membership in preparation for the launch of an exclusive member service - NFB Insurance Solutions - in April.

The Federation says that the move will bolster its support for members at a time when an increasing number of firms struggle to find favourable rates.

June Davis, head of member services at the NFB, said: “The market for insurance, particularly credit, has hardened following months of gloomy headlines and dismal output forecasts which has eroded confidence in the construction market. In many cases, quotes have become hugely expensive or aren’t being offered at all.

“In the current climate, this agreement with Giles will help contractors gain advice of a specialist insurance advisor who knows the market and help source competitive quotes from underwriters.”

Chris Giles, chief executive of Giles, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed the sole insurance advisor to the National Federation of Builders. The NFB is a leading organisation in its sector and will allow Giles to serve a large client base and further build its offering in this sector. We look forward to working with the NFB and maximising on future opportunities as we take our business forward.”
