Morris named best builder
Wilmslow-based Morris has been named the North West’s best builder in a government-backed scheme to track housebuyer satisfaction nationwide.
Morris achieved the highest scores of any major developer in the regions where it is active (over 94% satisfaction rating) for the build quality of its new homes and customer service standards. As a result, Morris is the only housebuilder in the region to be awarded a full ‘five star’ rating.
The satisfaction survey is commissioned annually by the Home Builders Federation (HBF) and includes feedback from over 16,000 housebuyers. The survey asks people to rate their builder for the quality of their homes and also whether they would recommend the company to a friend.
Commenting on the ‘five star’ award, chief executive Mike Gaskell said: “A large part of our business strategy involves ongoing investment in build quality and maintaining high standards of customer service. By excelling in these areas we have maintained strong demand for our homes and received great feedback from our customers.
“These results are a great endorsement of our approach and reflect the fact that we now occupy a unique position in the market for a company of our size. We will work hard to ensure that we sustain the same high level of customer satisfaction and retain our point of difference in the housebuilding industry.”
Morris attributes its performance in the HBF National New Home Customer Satisfaction survey to the consistency of its approach across all sites and types of homes.
Mike Gaskell continued: “Our approach is the same whether it’s an apartment scheme or one of our large, strategic sites such those currently underway in Chester, St Helens and Warrington. We put quality first and never compromise.
“We have also been at the forefront of green housebuilding for some time and are committed to innovation and using the latest materials. For example, we have recently increased the number of Code 3 homes in development and are submitting plans for a zero carbon village in Peterborough, after being selected as preferred developer by the Homes and Communities Agency.”
Morris will shortly have over 50 active sites managed by its three regional business units in the North of England and the East and West Midlands.
