First time buyers in Wem rush to take advantage of Government scheme
The developer behind Saxon Fields in Wem is reporting a rise in sales following the success of the government-led HomeBuy Direct scheme.
Housebuilder Morris has seen an increase in the number of buyers looking to buy their first home, with seven properties at the development, off Aston Street, all purchased under HomeBuy Direct.
The HomeBuy Direct scheme enables qualifying first time buyers to purchase a new home with a mortgage from as little as 70 per cent of its value and without needing a large deposit.
Julie Smith, regional sales director for Morris, said: “Saxon Fields has attracted a lot of interest from both young professionals and families due to its central location and the quality of new build homes on offer.
“The HomeBuy Direct scheme is proving to be a great opportunity for first time buyers who want to get on the property ladder but, so far, have been unable to afford it. We’ve seen a significant increase in enquiries at Saxon Fields in the last few months and have already helped many first time buyers purchase a home through the scheme.”
Morris currently has a range of one, two and three bedroom homes available at Saxon Fields, starting from just £77,000*. The development is located in the centre of Wem within easy walking distance of the train station which offers regular services to both Shrewsbury and Manchester.
Julie continued: “The HomeBuy Direct is only available on a limited number of properties at this development so homebuyers should move quickly if they want to secure their ideal property.”
To find out more about Saxon Fields, visit the sales office (open Thursday to Monday between 10.30am and 5.30pm) at Saxon Fields, Aston Street, Wem, SY4 5AY, call 01939 236 424 or visit www.morrishomes.co.uk/saxon-fields/.
* Price quoted is 70% of the marketed price on selected homes under the HomeBuy Direct scheme. Subject to terms and conditions.
