New partner boosts Keoghs Disease Team
Law firm Keoghs has welcomed a new partner, Peter Kenworthy, to its expanding disease team.
Peter joins from DWF (formerly Ricksons) where he has worked for more than 10 years, specialising in disease.
He has 15 years of experience in handling disease claims – as well as complex non-disease and multi-track employers’ and public liability claims – on behalf of major insurers.
A large number of these claims related to asbestos and other chest conditions, noise induced hearing loss, hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS) and work-related upper-limb disorders (WRULD).
Peter has also successfully defended a large number of claims concerning alleged brain injury from exposure to solvents and has been involved in a multi-million pound recovery scheme.
Peter sat on the EL/Disease special interest group of the Federation of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL) and has regularly provided training on all issues relating to injury and disease claims.
Gary Fitzpatrick, head of the disease team at Keoghs said: “Peter’s wealth of experience makes him a real asset to the team and we are delighted to welcome him on board.
“We have dealt with disease claims for many years, but we decided in 2007 that the volume had reached a level that justified a dedicated team. Since then the disease team has gone from strength to strength.”
Peter’s appointment follows that of another partner, David Wynn, at the beginning of the year.
