Brother is number one ethical brand for the fifth year in a row

Office technology manufacturer Brother has been awarded a 100/100 rating for its environmental, animal welfare and human rights’ credentials in a leading independent audit – the only company in its sector to do so.

Brother has recorded an excellent score in every category, as measured by the UK’s Ethical Company Organisation – publishers of The Good Shopping Guide.

This is the fourth year in a row that Brother has secured 100/100 score and the fifth year running that the company has been number one in the marketplace.

The award continues to demonstrate how Brother is leading the printing solutions industry with rival printer/fax/all-in-one manufacturers all scoring less in the report.

Louise Marshall, Head of Corporate Responsibility at Brother UK, said: “Brother has a reputation for ethical corporate behaviour, and this award is another string to the company’s bow. Our team has looked at every aspect of our organisation to evaluate the most responsible and appropriate way of doing business and our products are examples to the industry in terms of their environmental performance. This award takes pride of place alongside our recognitions for excellence, which include the Blue Angel and Energy Star accreditations along with compliance with WEEE, RoHS, the Battery Directive and REACH.

Brother’s impressive performance means that it qualifies as an accredited ‘Ethical Company’. The full league table of results will be published in the 2010 edition of the Good Shopping Guide.
