Award winning party planner celebrates success
A Blyth party planner who has hosted over 30 weddings in just four months at her new pub is being recognised for her hard work by leading pub company Admiral Taverns.
Steph Bariana has been chosen from nearly 2,000 landlords nationwide to receive an Admiral Taverns Achievement Award following her success in running The Eagle pub on Albion Way, which she took over in October last year.
Steph, who has worked in party planning for many years, has used her experience to create a function-friendly pub that offers a full service package to anyone planning a special event.
Steph said: “I had been looking to take my party planning business to the next level for some time when I came across The Eagle.
“I’d never really considered becoming a landlord before, but the pub appealed to me because of its two large function rooms - I knew they would be a perfect as wedding and party venues after a lick of paint.”
Steph already has many other party events booked in for 2011.
She added: “Running a pub can be hard work but it’s also extremely rewarding, and I’m really enjoying being at The Eagle and having my own base to host the parties.”
Admiral Taverns – one of the UK’s largest independent operator of tenanted and leased pubs – introduced Achievement Awards to help recognise landlords like Steph who have shown best practice and made a positive impact on their pub and their community.
Peter Creamer, business development manager for Admiral Taverns, said: “Steph is a great role model for anyone who’s ever wanted to run a pub. She’s worked hard to build the profile of The Eagle and has created a welcoming, multi-purpose pub that’s proving very popular with the local community.
“We are always on the look out for people who have the personality and drive to run a successful pub and have a number of available venues in the area; contact our recruitment team on 0845 070 8950 or visit www.admiraltaverns.co.uk to find out more.”
